Quick Update and Free Coaster Pattern

Hello friends! It has been quite awhile since I last wrote. My very active 10 month old baby boy has been keeping me busy! He’s a handful, but such a joy (except for during diaper changes…. But we won’t go into that.) During my limited freetime, I have done a little dabbling in pattern design. So far I’ve only designed very simple items like dishcloths and coasters, but I would love to be designing sock patterns and perhaps even sweaters someday. As the title of this post suggests, I have decided to share a free, very beginner-friendly coaster pattern for you all. My sister asked me to make some coasters for her a few months ago and these little guys were born. Enjoy the pattern!

Materials:

Worsted weight cotton (I used Knitpicks Dishie)

Size US 6 needles

Gauge:

18 stitches x 28 rows per 4″ (Gauge isn’t very important for this pattern)

Instructions:

Cast on 20 stitches.

Knit 4 rows.

Row 1: K2 P16 K2

Row 2: K across row

Repeat these 2 rows 9 more times.

Knit 3 rows.

Bind off and weave in ends. Block if desired.

As always, thank you for taking the time to read! I would love to become more active on here, but between chasing baby boy around, keeping house, and, well, knitting, my time is limited. That being said, I would be delighted if you subscribed to my blog. I will try to put more content out in the future. If you would like to be more up to date on my knitting journey, you can find me on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/bumblebriknits/. I’m much more active there. Thanks again!
