Good afternoon, readers! It’s a somewhat blustery and rainy day in Western Washington. Last week we were blessed with warm, beautiful weather. I am thankful for both the sun and the rain. We need a little of both to thrive! I hope you all are staying safe and healthy during these crazy times. I am so thankful that no one that I know personally has been diagnosed with covid-19. We’ve been in quarantine for over two months now. I haven’t posted since before this all began! I have certainly had the time to write, but the motivation has not been there. Well, I am finally back and I hope to be better about blogging more regularly in the future. Maybe I’ll try for at least one post a month. Surely, I can handle that, right? 
Today I want to share a review of “I Love This Cotton” from Hobby Lobby. I recently bought it to make some dishcloths for my lovely mother in law. I’ll share some pictures of those at the end. Please bear with my yarn reviewing inexperience. This is a first for me, but I hope you all will find it helpful nonetheless!

Price: $3.79 (I bought it on sale for $2.65)
My Thoughts:
Pros: Overall, I was very happy with this yarn. I ordered it online, so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I’ve worked with other cotton yarns before such as Lily Sugar ‘N Cream and Bernat Handicrafter, both being not especially soft. When I first touched this yarn, however, I was pleasantly surprised. It is incredibly soft! I could see it working well for wearable accessories and baby items. Another great thing about this yarn is that it comes in so many pretty colors. I counted 75 colorways on the Hobby Lobby website! Let’s talk about yardage and price. I was able to make 2 roughly 9×9 inch dishcloths out of one skein with a little bit of yarn leftover. The regular price of this yarn is $3.79 and there are 180 yards in each skein. That comes out to about $0.02/yard. Joann fabrics sells 200 yard skeins of Lily Sugar ‘N Cream yarn for $3.99. That comes out to $0.01995/yarn or rounded up to $0.02. Although, the price is pretty much the same, “I Love This Cotton” is so much softer and nicer to work with!
Cons: As much as I love this yarn, there are a couple negatives that I should mention. First of all, this yarn is a bit splitty. That doesn’t bother me too much, but I know a lot of people hate working with splitty yarn. Complaint number 2: Cotton fluff! While working with this yarn, I was continually confronted with little detached tufts of cotton that would fly up and tickle my nose or get stuck to my clothes. That was unfortunate. 😦
Conclusion: Despite the minor annoying tendencies of “I Love This Cotton”, I find it to be a quality and affordable yarn!
