Christmas knitting WIP

Christmas music plays on my google-home. A mug of chai tea rests on the bookshelf next to me. A couple Christmas candles and a snow globe are distributed around the room. (I need to collect more Christmas decorations!!) I can’t believe Christmas is only 21 days away! I absolutely love this time of year. The music, the lights, the baked goods, the gift exchanges.. I love it all! This year I’m hoping to mostly gift hand knitted items. I enjoy knitting Christmas gifts, but I am definitely starting to feel the pressure to get my projects done on time. Unfortunately, this year both Lars’s family and mine won’t be able to all be together on Christmas day, but thankfully that means I have a little extra time for some gifts. I am thankful that my current situation in life allows me a lot of time to knit. I don’t think I would be where I am today in my knitting skills, if it weren’t for Lars’s good, stable job and his support of me being a stay at home wife. I certainly would’t be able to knit as many Christmas presents.

I have two active WIPs at the moment. The one I’m most excited about is a blanket for my 1 1/2 year old niece. I was going to make her a hat or some little finger-less gloves, but I was worried she wouldn’t keep those things on. She’d probably grow out of them pretty quickly as well. I’d been eyeing some adorable, soft yarn cakes at Hobby lobby called Cozy Cutesy. It’s a self striping baby yarn that comes in the cutest color combos. Here’s a link so you can check out all the different colorways I had a hard time finding any patterns that were made especially for this yarn, but after some digging, I discovered this one–paul. I’m hoping my niece will enjoy this soft, cozy blanket. πŸ™‚

Self striping yarn is the best! I love that I don’t have to keep attaching new colors and there are no extra ends to weave in. πŸ˜€ That’s all for now. Just in case I don’t get the chance to write again before Christmas, I hope you all will have a very merry Christmas! As always, thanks for reading.
